20th House of Delegates District Committee Nominating Caucus - August 17, 6:30pm

The 20th House of Delegates Nominating Committee will hold a caucus in Staunton Community Center on August 17th at 7PM in the Staunton City Council Chambers. The doors will open at 6:30PM and will close for the caucus at 7:00PM. Laura Kleiner is running for the nomination - against the "nobody" vote (as in, the committee is actually considering not contesting the seat).

Nelson voters in the Rockfish, Roseland, Nellysford and Montebello voting precincts are now in the 20th HOD district. These are a few of our largest precincts and we could make a real difference in supporting Laura for the nomination.

The caucus location is right in downtown Staunton at 116 W. Beverley St. (enter through the Police Station on Central Ave. and take the elevator up one flight).

25th Senate District Committee Nominating Caucus - August 20, 2:30pm

The 25th Senate District Democratic Committee hereby calls a Caucus to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011, with registration to begin at 2:30, pm in the Main Shelter of Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet, Virginia.

Caucus Result: Angi Johnson is our Nominee for Treasurer!

The Nelson County Democratic Committee held an Unassembled Caucus to determine our nominee for the office of Treasurer of Nelson County at the Lovingston Volunteer Fire Department, 53 Baker Street, Lovingston yesterday, and chose Angela Johnson as our candidate for Treasurer of Nelson County.

2011 Kickoff Committee Meeting - February 2, 6:00PM

There will be a meeting of the Nelson County Democratic Committee on Wednesday, February 2 at 7:30 at the Nelson Memorial Library. We will preview the 2011 election, which promises to be a big one here in the county. Nomination process for Board of Supervisors (South and West districts) and the county wide offices (Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, Sheriff, Commonwealth Attorney) will be determined. I think I got all of the local offices, but please let me know if I forgot one. The clerk of the court does not run this year, as it is an eight-year term.

Please join us at 6:00 for a pot luck supper (bring a covered dish to share). I will invite all potential candidates of whom I am aware, and this will be an opportunity to meet them and to spend time with other good Democrats of Nelson County. If you are aware of anyone hoping to run for county office as a Democrat who has not contacted me, please ask them to do so.
